Spotlight on products that outshine their brands!

A spa, a whirlpool… from the JACUZZI trademark (look at that little symbol ® at the end of the trademark, reminding us that it’s not a generic word… as the company’s recent press campaign also reminds us).

Before becoming a benchmark in bubble wellness, it was the compassion and inventiveness of Candido JACUZZI in the 1940s that gave birth to a therapeutic hydrotherapy pump to relieve his grandson Kenneth of the incessant pain associated with his rheumatoid arthritis. The young man was thus able to maintain his mobility for many years. The company’s engineers then quickly developed a domestic version of the pump, enabling any bathtub to be transformed into a hydrotherapy spa, and then into a wellness spa.

Replace small plastic pots from nurseries, garden centers… and help us avoid eating or drinking plastic:

81% of plastic products become waste in less than a year, and over 40% of the plastic produced is used only once before being thrown away. Plastic particles are found in ocean water, in the stomachs of marine animals, and in our food and drinking water. Current plastic recycling is hampered by the limited number of recycling options available, the undesirable use of recycled plastic containers in the food industry, and so on.

FERTILPOT is a biodegradable planting pot, made entirely from wood fibers, so it’s environmentally friendly. What’s more, it’s practical because it’s “ready to plant”: there’s no need to unpack when planting. Made in France for over 70 years, it is sold worldwide, to professionals and private individuals alike, and to cap it all off, it can be used in organic farming.

The perfect marriage of mechanics and IT, thanks to start-up Lift Labs: this spoon (or fork) helps patients with motor neurological disorders (Parkinson’s, Huntington’s, essential tremors…) to eat without spilling the contents of their spoon: the stabilizing handle contains sensors to detect hand movements and algorithms to distinguish unwanted tremors from intended hand movements.

To stabilize (at 70%) the spoon and its contents, the algorithm directs two motors in the handle which move the spoon in the opposite direction to any detected tremor. In this way, the patient regains his or her autonomy and dignity when eating.

The Liftware Steady‘s sister product, the Liftware Level, designed for people with cerebral palsy or spinal cord injury, features a handle that bends on command, electronic :
