Be one step ahead of counterfeiters on the Internet, inform your (future) customers of their activities and, above all, give them the exact address of your website, so that distracted customers do not end up on the counterfeit website:
CARGLASS : “TYPE .FR TO BE SURE TO REACH US!”
This windshield repair and replacement company asks us at the end of its TV commercials (reaching a large audience) to order their intervention on their website carglass.FR:
Why ? Competitors have bought the keyword CARGLASS from Google Ads (which is unfortunately legal) to move up in the search engine’s results among users typing the word “CARGLASS”…
STIHL : A STIHL CHAINSAW AT LESS THAN 80% IS NOT A STIHL
STIHL currently manufactures and sells chainsaws, hedge trimmers, etc. in 160 countries – a success that attracts the covetousness of counterfeiters, such as the owner of the litigious website stihlch-outlet.com which offers chainsaws at less than 80% of the usual price, and also collects the personal information of interested Internet users and their advance payment before the (supposed) shipment of the chainsaws…
STIHL therefore warns Internet users on its website: “While counterfeit chainsaws are sold at low prices, their lifespan, performance and, above all, their safety level are far less attractive. Counterfeit chainsaws can also be found at prices close to those of the original chainsaws, in order to make people believe that it is an original” – another strategy used by cybercriminals to distinguish themselves from “low-end” counterfeiters (prices too low, websites and emailings full of language and spelling mistakes, use of old graphics of the counterfeit brand, etc.).
We can only regret that you have to go and look for this information on the News page of the Stihl website, and that it does not appear on the home page – even if it is, admittedly, a bit of a “killjoy”.
In a general way, take care of the referencing of your website on the Internet, by animating it regularly, by creating traffic, so that it goes up naturally in the search results (and avoids you buying keywords from GOOGLE ADS, which are expensive and also open to your competitors…).
